About Wicked FairyTale®

Abstract brain art representing creativity and intuition

A Little About the Human Behind the Creatures

Hello, there — nice to meet you virtually! My name is Tara, an intuit, and the shop owner and creator of Wicked FairyTale® creatures. A firm believer in magic, I blur the lines between fantasy and reality as I have always had a foot between two conflicting worlds. I describe myself as creatively analytical, an eclectic concoction of cosmic dirt & dust, stolen youth with a grey hair or two, a dash of smart-assery, a worthy wordsmith, and a fondness for analogies that keeps my conversations interesting.

Some of my career adventures have been as an information security strategist, pharmaceutical chemist, professional photographer, technical writer, microbiologist, server, clairvoyant, sculptor, author, and validation engineer.

When not pursuing my latest career passion, I enjoy creating magical worlds, running, writing, discovering the outdoors, and spoiling rescue dogs who is the Wicked FairyTale® mascot.

The Creative Side

Whether it's sculptures, books, or photography, Wicked FairyTale® has you covered. I specialize in everything magically wicked.

My medium for sculptures is clay, but I enjoy mixed media, and my style is best described as constantly evolving. As I bring the idea to life, the sculpture's personality and stories emerge; by the time I am finished, they are like my children. I often work on many projects simultaneously, with my current focus on creating a Wicked FairyTale® tarot deck.

My genre of choice for writing is fantasy fiction. For photography, my gear is Canon 5D, Mark II with various lenses. I prefer to wait patiently for the perfect moment than manipulate in Photoshop.

The Magic Behind Wicked FairyTale®

I've always believed that stories help us remember who we are. Through sculpture, I create curious companions and enchanted keepsakes that invite wonder, spark imagination, and reconnect us with the magic we often leave behind in childhood.

I adore working with people who, like I once was, are temporarily compelled to maintain their dichotomy despite having a foothold in two distinct realities. I want to give people confidence and support them in developing their plans to be fully integrated and alive.

The Real-Life Wicked FairyTale®

The Wicked FairyTale® Artist.

Dabbling in photography and sculpting for over 25 years. I am an eclectic person who is sarcastic and driven, always wanting to think outside the box and grow both creatively and intellectually. I could be a professional student and survive on popcorn but my desire to travel directly conflicts with those two goals!

The Wicked FairyTale® Husband.

Married in 2019 to a man who is subject to every creation; he listens patiently to my ramblings of paint, clay, and ideas. My husband is a fantastic person, my favorite human, and is my dedicated in-house engineer for those creations in need of a more technical configuration. He patiently supports my crystals in windows and spiritual ponderings.

The Wicked FairyTale® Mascots

The Newest Wicked FairyTale® Mascot.

Griffin (3 years)

This sweet, goofy (and sometimes energetic) boy is the newest edition to our family. He loves his big sister, whipped cream, ice-cream, popcorn, car rides, babies (toys), and chasing balls! He is filled with endless energy and is nicknamed Shark, little man, and Bubba. Griffy loves Momma's singing bowls, 'helping' me do yoga, and is my running buddy.

The Oldest Wicked FairyTale® Mascot.

Arie (11 years young)

When I say Arie loves people, it is an understatement! She adores everyone, offering up smiles, high-fives and the infamous Arie lean on visitor's legs. That's almost 80 pounds of big hippo love. Her nicknames are Pig, Lovie, sweet potato, peanut butter pie, sweet pea, and yammer yams. She loves ice cream, peanut butter, and popcorn and gets shotgun in the car when riding with Momma and Bubba.

The Beloved Wicked FairyTale® Mascot — Stella

Stella was almost 12 when she crossed the rainbow bridge on 5 APR 2021. She was a sweet girl who went by the nickname Stoic Stella, Bug, Piggy, and was found lounging in the sun on the floor of my studio. She will have a special card in my tarot deck in honor of her; a gift of gratitude for the idea divinely shared with me whilst meditation during her final days.
